short shifter

what is a short shifter? I see the bar for stick shifts all the time is it better to have the different shifter? is there a whole kit I have to by or is it just the shifter?

a short shifter is a very good investment on any honda. it makes it so that each shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th) is shorter in length. this means you can shift faster and drive faster. if you are thinking of getting one, get an OBX. they had some on group buy center and i got one. it is awesome.

its just the bar. while youre at groupbuycenter.com get some energy suspension urethane(sp.) bushings too.

I got one of those OBX short-shifters and the Neuspeed urethane bushings also. I just got it yesterday...I plan to install it over T-giving. It looks cool...we'll see how it performs.
The short shifter changes the pivot point of the shift lever...the actually length of the stick is the same I believe....but changing the pivot point (moving it up on the stick) means that your throws are shorter to accomplish the same movement on the linkage to the transmission.

i like my dc shifter w/ energy suspension bushings. very fun mod..doesn't take too much work to install either.

i just ordered some for me. hope they are good, cause right now when im in gear i can move my shifter from side to side as if im in neutral...it sucks.

same setup i have. I kept my stock knob, most aftermarket ones make it to low it seems. Overall it makes the car sooooo much more fun to drive hehe.

either that, or just chop off an inch or 2 on your stock shifter. I did that with my car and it helps alot.
